Based between Wyoming and Arizona, my work is rooted in a lifelong practice of drawing and a deepening exploration of oil painting, which I have pursued intensively for the past year. My foundation in hyperrealism continues to shape my approach, grounding my paintings in realism even as they drift into the surreal.
I am drawn to the mythology of old America—especially the West. Cowboys, presidents, mountains, wildlife, and vast open landscapes recur in my work, not as nostalgia, but as symbols reimagined through a dreamlike lens. I explore what happens when familiar Western imagery collides with the subconscious: a cowboy shoving a massive eyeball off the road, a U.S. president with an eyeball for a head, or myself riding a T. rex through the Tetons. These scenes balance precision with absurdity, inviting viewers to question what they’re seeing—and why it feels strangely familiar.
Oil paint is my medium of choice for its depth, richness, and ability to slow the process, allowing ideas to evolve naturally on the canvas. While I enjoy taking commissions, my primary focus is creating work driven by curiosity and instinct, trusting that the right audience will connect with it.
My goal is simple: to make work that stops people in their tracks. If a painting lingers in the viewer’s mind or sparks a thought they didn’t expect to have, then it has done its job.
